Host gets lag
A recent development for me and a gaming friend is that whomever hosts gets lag. Whenever I host, I get a prompt saying that the other guy should host. But I try hosting anyway. When I do, I freeze about every 3-4 seconds. When my mate hosts, he gets some lag but not as bad as I do. This is a fairly recent development. We never had lag issues before.

Re: Host gets lag
Hey! Some clarifying questions:
- You guys are inviting one another into a lobby, and then starting the mission? Or, are you matchmaking into a game afterwards?
- What are you experiencing in the game, specifically?

Re: Host gets lag
We just invite each other into the lobby as this is a good friend that I always play with.
All I can say is that the game freezes for about a half to one second and then unfreezes. This happens quite often. Sometimes many times every minute. We call it "lag" but we have no idea if this is a networking issue or not. We have zero trouble with other games that we play co-op.
Yesterday, my friend hosted so I expected no lag on my end but I got a little bit. It was much less than when I hosted. I always get the message "It would be better if your friend hosted." Can you tell me what that means? Is the game testing bandwidth or ping? Does if prefer Canadians?

Re: Host gets lag
UPDATE: It would seem that the lag was on my end. I was suffering from severely high latency issues ("bufferbloat"). I enabled QoS on my router and made my PC highest priority and updated my router's firmware. My latency both up and down dropped dramatically!
I recommend gamers go to speed.cloudflare.com and https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat to get a feel as to how latency may be affecting their gaming.
I haven't had a chance to play Six Days with my much improved latency. If I don't post back, it means my lag is no longer a factor.
