Marine Times Review
I haven't seen this posted here before, so it might be interesting to see an unbiased review by those who were actually there: Marine Times - Observation Post

Re: Marine Times Review
They're reviewing what's available.
Or do you expect them to review *promises*?

Re: Marine Times Review
I'm a little confused.... Does the claim that this review is unbiased suggest other reviews are?
Some of the points and criticisms from this reviewer are contrary to what I've seen from other opinions from vets / gamers. Does it make his opinion wrong? No, I don't think that way. However, I do see his review as just one of many. ....of which most have been quite positive.
IMO, there are already enough reviews and gameplay footage out there for people to make up their own minds about the game in its current state and whether they feel it's worth the price. I don't see this reviewers opinion as any less or more biased than anyone else.
As for "promises" made, folks can either choose to believe the developers are honest in their goals for the game or not. If not, the solution seems simple to me.... Wait until the game is in a state that is acceptable to you before purchasing. If that day never comes, then don't buy it.
Personally, my friends and I have been really impressed with what we've seen so far of the early access (warts and all) and if it were available for PS5, we would have already given Victura our $40.

Re: Marine Times Review
I don't know if the pre-release Youtube streamers were paid for their reviews, but I do know that some Twitch streamers were paid to play the game. So — I'm a bit suspicious, as I wouldn't consider a paid "review" to be unbiased.Kean_1 wrote: Sun Jun 25, 2023 11:07 am I'm a little confused.... A review is not about judging whether a game *might* be great at some point in the future. A review looks at what's available right now, and whether it's worth buying right now. Promises and plans (no matter how honest) are broken & abandoned all the time, so there's no point in considering those during a rewiew. As for "promises" made, folks can either choose to believe the developers are honest in their goals for the game or not. You haven't even played the game yet, but you're 100% that it's the best thing since sliced bread (and know better than people who actually own the game). Sure thing...Personally, my friends and I have been really impressed with what we've seen so far of the early access (warts and all) and if it were available for PS5, we would have already given Victura our $40.
