While many of us enjoy friendship and community this Memorial Day, we also know it will be a struggle for hundreds of thousands of Americans as they remember their loved ones and teammates. Our hearts and appreciation are with you as we remember, as well.

I couldn't help but feel a bit awkward when my neighbor said "happy Memorial Day" as I was putting up the flag yesterday morning. I said "good morning".

He meant well as most do but I also know it's a day that is far from happy for many affected vets and families alike.
