So my idea would be to keep it how it is for matchmaking games, but also have an option to have custom lobbies with custom parameters like enemy count/density, enemy skill, game mode, etc. For online matchmaking games that give you points and stuff, probably that should be at the standard difficulty and enemy count. For custom matches, maybe you aren't given points but you allow friends or even an individual to play through however they want in a sort of sandbox environment.
There's been lots of times where I'd love to just hop on solo for a quick practice session or whatever, and allowing teams to tailor the experience would also be neat. I don't know how that would work for matchmaking though so those should probably just be "standard". Part of what makes a game like Arma so popular is the level of options it provides to create various environments and game modes and what not. More options is usually better as long as it doesn't ruin the immersion / gameplay.

I'm posting just as feedback. 14h playing, most of times with 4 man squad. But let's say 3h of 2 man squad. Never solo.
2 men squad is really hard, but perfectly doable in my opinion. The mainly problem is the time lenght. It's just too low. We need more time because when we're only two players, we need to be extra careful about our surroundings and progress much more slower. IMHO, the problem is the time, not the number of insurgents. But maybe reducing the insurgents total number would help to make the game in time.

I 100% agree with Hoopenfaust on this. I play solo as well and the game is nearly impossible.

4 months late on this, and you do realize that in just over a week you are getting friendly AI to assist you right?

This is by design, as clearing a house alone in Fallujah during the battle was also nearly impossible.
As Tink mentioned, friendly AI are coming next week to make the game more feasible during solo play.
