M16A4's Burst Fire Implementation.

Despite semi-auto being the go-to for ammo conservation and zapping baddies, the M16A4's 3 round burst mode is very handy for suppression and when things go south, but sadly most games get that feature wrong.

One video that throuroghly explains it:

In real life, if you hold the trigger you will fire the full burst, until you squeeze the trigger again, usually in games if you click once, the burst will come out in one go.

It's a little minor thing but it would surely be appreciated to have the correct function of the 3 round burst used in the M16 for once.

Even if it's not 1 to 1 exactly how the weapon operates in game like real life, it could improve ammo conservation, allowing to fire incomplete 2 round bursts (you have to practice a lot to do that, it's easier with low fire rate guns like the full auto mode AKM with 600 rounds per minute).

Still, I don't know if you can pick up enemy AK weapon systems in SDIF so it probably won't be very useful in the long run and its worth to keep in in mind that USMC firing doctrine is very different from that of the Vietnamese army.

Thanks for the details on this one, Karma. Currently, the burst works as a single tap, but we're having discussions on this based on your post.

You can pick up and fire what we're calling "Found Weapons." The drawback is that ammo is limited and they cannot be stowed, and so you drop them afterwards.

It would be nice if you could include the different modes of fire in each weapon by providing the respective switch, that the player has to manually change (where applicable). With limited ammunition this could become a real tactical question each player has to consider.
