Different Mags / Reload System

Just an idea that I liked from the “realism” mode that Rainbow Six Siege had for a while.
One of the smaller aspect In games is the number of times you can reload. And every time you reload you somehow always have a full mag. This isn’t realistic but I understand why.
What would be cool, is having a set number of mags that are all full at the start of the level, but over time you use and expend the ammunition.
For example:
Mag 1: 30 rounds
Mag 2: 30 rounds
Mag 3: 30 rounds
Say you’re on mag 1 and fire 12 rounds, now you only have 18 rounds left in mag 1. You can expend the mag, or you can reload to mag 2, to top off with a full 30. But once you cycle through mags 2&3 you go back to mag 1, that only has 18 rounds left in it.
Just an idea, might be shit in practice, but one that might make the combat more realistic as you have to know how many rounds you have left in any given mag. (Or it can be shown how many is left in the HUD)
