Arming habd grenades

In the game, when you pull the pin on a hand grenade, your character still appears to be holding the spoon down, yet the grenade will blow up in your hand after 5 seconds.

It is bizzare given the high attention to detail of the game, players are expecting that you can hold the grenade with the spoon down indefinately. I have seen someone blow themselves up and sometimes a whole squad about half a dozen times now.

Change it so when you are holding the grenade the timer does not start until the grenade leaves your hand. If you wanna go extra then add a key to cook off the grenade (release the spoon in your hand).

Yes, there were some decisions made here for gameplay, and we're curious if anyone else has a preference here?

What decision was made exactly? Just curious.

If you want to keep it the way it is, you need still need to have the spoon visibly and audibly flying off the grenade on LMB hold .To further elaborate, you have 3 options:

1) Keep the way it is, just let the player know the grenade is armed by have the spoon visibly and audibly flying off the grenade on LMB hold. 5 Second fuse begins on LMB hold and it is armed in the players hand.

2) Make it so the grenade doesn't arm until it leaves the players hand during the throw (the spoon releases at this point). I don't think pre-cooking grenades is officially sanctioned so this would be the most by the book option.

3) Same as option 2 but add a button to cook the grenade in your hand (releasing the spoon while holding the grenade) would give the players the most freedom by allowing unsanctioned pre-cooked grenade throws.

Also, I think the fuse time on grenades is actually variable, like 3-5 seconds or something.

The decision to have the grenade start ticking as soon as the keybind is pressed.
