I've been looking through the forums and could not find any information on potential server rentals - especially for those of us that already have gaming groups/clans with Discord servers. Is there anything in the works for community servers or server hosting for SDIF?
To clarify, I would prefer to use a hosting server since I don't have the space for my own server (or the knowledge on how to set one up). Are there options for this, or will there be any?
Apologies if this has been covered and I missed it.

It's a great question, so thanks for asking this.
We have no plans for server rentals, at least not initially. The game will be peer-to-peer with matchmaking or friend invites to start games. There are a myriad of technical and financial reasons for this.
We hope to migrate to dedicated servers once we have an idea of how many people are playing the game.

With 4 player co-op, there is no need for server rentals.
However, if this were to expand in the future to 13 man squads (not announced) then I could see a need for some kind of hosting but peer-to-peer could still suffice depending on how the hosting works with game optimization.
