The M249

Haven't posted anything in awhile to the forums, mostly because I've sort of asked everything I wanted too and like most I'm now waiting for more news to come next year, but I figured I'd ask if the M249 featured in the game will have multiple variants such as some with no stock or just the standard SAW with its normal stock other than the paratrooper variant , since not every gunner had the para variant or the 200 round box the SAW currently has in the game most preferred the 100 round ammo pouch due to less weight on the gun.

The M249 also appears to lack a bipod, although I'm not sure if this is the case, anyway while most probably mind won't if these are absent from the game I would appreciate different attachments/variants for the SAW, not just different variants, but also different optics like the m113 machine gun optic Aimpoint compM2, mabey even the MARS sight.

I would also like to see the different variants of the M249 in particular the full buttstock with the long barrel. This is the only variant we used in our company and I believe the battalion. Probably would have been the same for 3/1, they were the same area of base as us so same armory. Also from the photos I’ve seen of 3/1 they use this variant.

I would like to see a button be used to deploy the bipod and tuck the bipod I personally don’t like it being automatic.

This was the one I was referring to when I was talking about a SAW with its standard stock, as I mentioned before I'm not a big fan of having the paratrooper variant being the only variant of the SAW in the game, so I hope we'll also see this one along with others.

Initially, there won’t be variants to the M249. Right now, our team is focusing more on the decisions players need to make before firing their weapon than the variations within each weapon type themselves. Of course, you’ll see more weapons and more variations over time.
