Encouraging for SDiF (ARMA Success on PS5)

I'm sure it hasn't gone unnoticed by SDiF developers re: ARMA Reforger's reception on PS5. Are the SDiF folks encouraged by this news? Yeah, it's a different kind of game but still I think it helps prove what many of us have known that there is a market for "milsim" games on console.

It's taken a couple more years than I thought it would but I'm really glad more "milsim" / hardcore titles are making their way to console. .....and that developers like those making SDiF have gone the extra step to committing to console straight out of the gate (choosing to wait for full release on all platforms).

I personally feel SDiF will be a hit on console and as we have more successful titles release on PS/XB, perhaps more publishers/developers will take notice. I hope they will and we may even see a renaissance of sorts in games of this nature on console. .....perhaps even AAA devs will finally listen to their fans and return franchises like Battlefield, Tom Clancy/R6/GR, etc. back to their roots. The player base may have been forgotten and ignored., but they are still there.

Again, excited to see games like SDiF recognizing the player base exists for more authentic / realistic shooters and I hope it makes an impact.

Good call out, Kean.

Yes, this is fantastic (and encouraging) to see. When competitors perform well, it reinforces the notion that we're on the right track and doing the right things. One thing's absolutely sure: the console market isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

As for a resurgence in games that had once made this genre great, I personally hope so.
