Re: Aimpoint compM2 and other opticss
It is likely that Force Recon still had the Aimpoint in late 2004 but I guess it might be impossible to find out when they switched to a different sight.

Re: Aimpoint compM2 and other opticss
I would definitely like the see any 3/5 mission have some MARS sights. As I’ve said before 3/5 relieved our battalion 2/1 in October 2004 so we did the right seat/left seat for a couple weeks and we got to see they had the MARS sight, probably one per fire team if I recall correctly but possibly two...

Re: M240G Ammunition belt
fed through an ammunition belt rather than box fed,why this is I don't know Our 240 gunners never had smaller ammo boxes/pouches I don’t know if our armory never issued them out, never received them, or the machine gunners never wanted them but they never had them. The SAW gunners had a choice of t...

Re: 9mm rifle spotting rifle on the SMAW
This something I don't recall seeing in any fps I've played so including it in this game which is trying to serve as an adaptation to the bloodiest urban combat in recent times would definitely be welcome as good attention to detail. I believe Squad has the spotting rifle on the SMAW but that’s the...

Re: Night optics and Marine gear
Our SAW gunners and SMAW gunners were issued AN/PVS-17 and pretty much all the SMAW gunners mounted the 17’s on their M16A4’s. Also most removed the tactical eye relief cone on the back because with this removed there was a better sight picture and eye relief. The 14’s were a lot better than the 7’s...

Re: vehicles
From what I have read in some other threads they will only have a static LAV which is used for resupply. Unfortunately it would seem this games budget and development deadline will not work with including AI or player controlled tanks, Bradleys, LAVs, Humvees, jets, helos, C130, or anything else. An...

Re: Sound design
They really do need to get the sound of the crack of the bullet as it passes by correct not many games or movie get this right.

Re: SITREP: USMC Weapons
Yeah SMAW and M240 I think are needed at the very least. There is a practical use for the SMAW even without building destruction in the game. And that is with the SMAW-NE round, after the First Battle of Fallujah in April during the summer our battalion Gunner instructed us to shoot this round throu...

Re: SITREP: USMC Weapons
So about the vertical grip will the hand actually grip it and if so will you be moving it closer to the magazine. Most of us had our vertical grip closer to the magazine because it offered better control.

Re: Loading Screen
The first photo’s description is incorrect, the 2nd Battle of Fallujah was not the first US engagement with insurgents. There was the 1st Battle of Fallujah not only during the April siege but after when we (2/1) held TCP entering the city, there was also Sadr City in Bagdad, Ramadi, and Najaf. And ...
