Enthusiast wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 4:58 pm what aircraft was in the background providing CAS?.
Not sure, maybe it was a AC-130. I remember being told her callsign was Basher over the net.

Then again maybe it was a CFF mission. Arty put in a lot of work too.

Re: Weapon jams

During Phantom Fury my Platoon Commander had us rotating with one squad manning the guns up on rooftops and doorways, one squad on rest (this is when weapon maintenance is done, along with eating or sleeping) and one squad on Quick React Force. The QRF is there incase of a CASEVAC, or a working part...

Re: The Downtime

I found this photo of us taking some downtime after 3 of our guys were wounded during room clearing. As you can see nobody is talking. We're coming down from an Adrenaline rush. And from a simple Google search it says " The After Effects. After a rush of adrenaline, the body slowly comes down f...

Re: Small design detail

Good point, never really considered us as a group of walking comedians. But, now that you mention it I've seen some funny pictures of us afterwards like this one of members of H&S Alpha Company. If you're interested we have a deployment video you could watch with more pictures in it. https://you...

Re: Small design detail

Would be an interesting concept. But, honestly the majority of us didn't go for after-market stuff. We had this culture where if you spotted anyone sporting clean aftermarket stuff we would call them a "gear queer." The 782 gear worked well. And, this was before our battalion had dump pouc...

Re: Small design detail

Well, our battalion was rocking woodland Interceptor flak jackets while other battalion's were rocking it in Coyote. Besides that we all strapped the many Molle pouches to our flak jacket. Also, very few people were wearing Deuce gear. The Marines that did wear Deuce gear were typically wearing afte...

Re: Small design detail

The VLI utilizes the Picatinny rail system. It's up to us as individuals where we want to place our gear. I put mine on the bottom because it felt balanced to me with the PEQ2 on top. Also, it worked well with the way I set up my pressure plates for both devices.

Just to give you an idea on what my "kit" looked like.

Re: Close air support and danger close

Just keep your mouth open and your fingers in your ear (if your not firing back.) Also, I never called CAS or CFF. That's the "sir's" job. I was a boot Lance Coconut at the time so that wasn't my thing.
