Re: Close air support and danger close
I attended the 15th reunion, during the reunion some very high ranking Officers were giving out statistics on how CAS and CFF missions were being called on us at very close ranges and in incredible numbers. I enclosed a video so you can see what the conditions were like for us as we were very happy ...

Re: Close air support and danger close
will calling in a danger close fire mission from let's say an artillery strike or a JDAM from an f18 result on your squad mates questioning you or pointing out how this could end very badly? I laughed reading this. Nobody questioned the "sir" when he decides to drop bombs danger close. We...

London's Imperial War Museum 6DiF exhibit.
I'm wondering if anyone here has visited the exhibit at London's Imperial War Museum. If so, what was it like and did you get to see some never before seen interviews and insight on the creative process of the project?

Re: Small design detail
If you're really enthusiastic about Operation Phantom Fury and Operation Vigilant Resolve. There is a Fallujah table top game called "Force on Force" by Ambush Alley. Within the Fallujah scenario you can either play as the Marines or the Insurgents in a table top manner. Think of it as DND...

Re: Small design detail
I have no doubt that the members of Highwire and Victura have the best intentions for this game. Watching interviews of Peter Tamte and the crew behind 6DiF showed me how they fully intend to tell the stories of heroism on full display. I can't wait to see their progress and to learn what stories ma...

Re: Small design detail
I can't even begin to speculate what will or will not make it into the game. But, I hope that if they do decide to focus on minute details that they are reflected properly. As for my issued gear I carried a M16A4 with a VLI, PEQ2, and an ACOG with a foward grip. I also had pressure pads positioned o...

Re: Small design detail
Not a dumb question. It comes down to personal preference really. Anecdotally some would say it was more difficult to line up your shots when you're outside on an always hot sunny day. Some would argue that the red chevron was just to bright for them.

Re: Small design detail
Looking into the ocular lens of an ACOG a red chevron presents itself. This bright red chevron is produced by the red fiber optic positioned on the top of the ACOG. If you cover the red fiber optic with your hand you can then dim the red chevron that you see through the ocular lens. What some infant...
